The club has a selection of sailing dinghies and windsuring boards that are available for members to use at any time they are not required for training. Even when training is taking place there are likely to be some boats available as it is highly uinlikely that every boat would be in use at the same time.

The club has the followng:-

  • 3 Wayfarers - 1 with asymmetric spinnaker and 2 with conventional spinnakers. There are 2 sets of small sails and 3 sets of stadard sails. A stable family sized boat. Purchased with funding from The Foundation for Sport and the Arts (1997) and The Sports Lottery (2010). The 2 older boats were upgraded to centre mainsheet in 2010 with funding from the RYA.
  • 2 RS Fevas - both with a choice of 2 mainsails (1 soft and 1 racing), jib and asymmetric spinnaker. These boats can be sailed single handed, or with helm and crew and with just the main or main and jib or main, jib and spinnaker. Ideal for teenagers and small adults. Purchased using club funds.
  • 2 Comets - both with a choice of 2 mainsails, standard or mino. These boats are sailed single handed but they have enough room for a child to sail as a passenger if required. Purchased with funding from Awards from All. Upgraded to centre mainsheet in 2010 with funding from the RYA.
  • 2 Mirrors - with main, jib and spinnaker. These are the oldest boats in our fleet having been donated by previous members. Upgraded to centre mainsheet in 2010 with funding from the RYA.
  • 6 Toppers - with a variety of older mainsails, 6 racing mainsails and 4 smaller mainsails. Purchased second hand using club funds and upgraded to centre mainsheet with new sails in 2010 with funding from the RYA.
  • 6 Optimists - with a choice of 6 new sails and 4 older ones. Funded by the Sports Lottery (2010) complemented by various items that are still usable from the original 4 wooden Optimists that we won in a Yachts and Yachting competition in 1998.
  • Various windsurfing boards and rigs purchased with club funds and a grant from the RYA (Sept 2011).

Full details about using the boats can be found in the members' area section which can be accessed by logging in.
