Why Join KWSC?

Because we are friendly.............

From a recent member... I contacted some of the clubs, one much nearer to home than Kielder. Being a complete novice it's awkward when you go and ask and find out, especially when people just walk past you. At Kielder one weekend I 'loitered with intent' and within 2 minutes someone asked if they could help. I explained, was given a cup of tea and was out that day sailing with a member. Since then I've had nothing but good advice, help and fun.

I've got my own dinghy now and other owners of the type have given me great advice and help.

Some clubs have private notices at entrances. For me, the club is summed up by the notice at the entrance - "Kielder Water Sailing Club - New Members Welcome" - and they really are!

Apart from the beautiful setting and the enormous lake why might you join Kielder Water Sailing Club to sail?

Might it be the friendly people, or the family orientated atmosphere? Might it be the great racing in a fantastic setting or might it be simply good value for money?

There are many reasons to join Kielder, but don't take our word for it. Why not come and visit us and see our warm welcome for yourself. Whether complete beginner or seasoned sailor we have to be worth a look.

We look forward to seeing you.

Value for money .............

No hidden fees, no additional boat park fees, no fees for extra boats or trailers, free camping. Simple and straight forward and great value whether sailing as a family, a couple or an individual.

We welcome sailors of all abilities from complete beginner upwards. Want to race - excellent, we offer handicap racing every weekend March - December. Want to potter or cruise the lake - great, there are 7 miles dam to dam with creeks and inlets to explore. Want to learn to sail - we are an RYA Training Centre and offer a wide range of courses for adults and juniors.

Relax.............

Spend the weekend at Kielder - you won't be alone. We have great (free) camping with stunning views and sunsets (look at the banner on this page). There is cycling and walking in the immediate vicinity and a swimming pool at Leaplish just a few miles away. There are some excellent local pubs for food and drink.

So, whether winding down after a hard days sailing or ust going for a cruise and a drink - Kielder is a great place to sail.
